Stephen Charles Landscape and Contract Gardeners is a growing business, offering the full range of Horticultural services.  Our continual expansion of private sector clients, means that we are now able to offer commercial services, whilst maintaining our private garden service.  Unlike some businesses that expand, we continue to ensure that our existing customer's continue to have the excellant level of care that they have come to expect.

Stephen Charles Landscape and Contract Gardeners was originally developed in 1986 as a small landscaping business for private gardens operating in Richmond, Surrey.  In recent years, with the success of the business, we have started a commercial division based in St Albans, Hertfordshire to serve business units, Managing Agents, Housing estates, retail parks and much more. 

Brief Overview

• 1984 Garden Maintenance Service operating as a "one man band"
  
• 1986 Turfing, Paving, Fencing and Walling Service started
  
• 1987 A Landscape Design and Construction department was introduced
  
• 1991 Trellis and Decking began
• 1995 Design of bespoke garden buildings commenced 
  
• 1996 The hard landscaping service (e.g. paving, terracing, walling, rockeries, pergolas etc) was introduced
  
• 1997 A soft landscaping service (e.g. planting, pruning, turfing etc)  was established
• 1997 The garden design, consultation and build service was introduced to replace the original landscape Design and Construction department
  
• 1998 A full maintenance department was created, to be inclusive of a regular maintenance programme to take care of every type and size of landscape
• 1998 The Commercial Division was founded
• 2000 The bespoke tree surgery service became founded
  
• 2002 Our Lighting, Design and Installation service became specifically made to order in all instances
  
• 2004 Irrigation, Design, Installation and Maintenance service became linked together
• 2006 A garden rejuvenation service, which is bookable over the telephone, by email or by submitting an enquiry formcame into existance
  

Our commercial division has now became fully recognised as a business which is not afraid of hard work, willing to work in all weathers (where ever possible) and who will not be afraid to suggest alternative designs where it becomes clear one proposal will not work.  We are now established as both working for private clients and for commercial companies.  We are more than happy to submit tenders for all types of work, whetehr it be low key garden maintenace, or a high degree of premises change.
